Construction on the Horseshoe Casino in Cincinnati has been delayed after a collapse on January 27, according to the Dayton Daily News. The US Department of Labor’s Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) launched an investigation to determine whey a floor collapsed during the construction project. Rock Ohio Caesars and Messer Construction have put the project on hold until the investigation is complete. The collapse injured more than 12 workers, according to Jessie Folmar, spokesman for Messer Construction. Four of the injured workers were hospitalized overnight, and three required surgery. Six weeks ago, a similar collapse occurred at the Horseshoe Casino site in Cleveland, also a Messer Construction project. Rock Ohio Caesars says that the two accidents are unrelated and have completely different contractors, and OSHA has verified. It is still a disturbing coincidence.
